Basing metal figs

I have only seen the old school way to drill a miniature in to a base.
Some of the figs not need to be drilled in to the base, like dwarfs and big guys. But for other you must need to keep using the plastic base with the grille or drill them with little holes.

Here I have explained step by step how I base my figs. Now I only use resin bases but can be applicable to plastic bases too. I hope more of you do it on this way.
I think that is the kick and easy way to do it, what you think?

I think I have Greebo frogs, some of them are very easy to glue on the base, but the blitzers on 1 leg need to be pinned in the hard way :(

I get a spruce with 5mm numbers and letters from a local model shop in Bristol, they are designed for those doing model trains

You can get then on trains shop as well or Impact.

I bought them but was very, very , very dificult to cut+glue that small number to the bases.
The numbers of the photo I made them from that numbers with an extra square of plasticard. Of course the copies are in resin :P .

Exactly the trouble I found. I ordered 3 packs from Impact without really thinking that I'd want to number the front and back of the base. I also made the (unwise) decision to number my linemen 11-16.

I am now using I's and the uprights of L's to make up the extras! :-)
