Hey guys,
I'm not sure what forum was the best one to post this in. I figured since this was the 'painting' forum it was the most appropriate one.
I know many of you would be familiar with James Wappel's awesome Blood Bowl teams. Well he now releasing a series of painting tutorial videos via Kickstarter. Here's a link to the Kickstarter page.
There probably won't be any tutorials on Blood Bowl minis, but I think the techniques will carry across regardless. I've pledged for just one video so far, but may increase that, depending on how things progress.

Here's my reluctance with something like this, and this is taking nothing away from the tremendous skill this guy obviously has. Makes my best stuff look like it was done by a ferret.
But there's a level that my painting skills are EVER going to get to. I'm never going to get close to anything that guy can achieve whether I buy a DVD or not, regardless of production value or how many angles I see each delicate brush stroke from. My time and patience are limited and I only took Art in High School to have a doss lesson twice a week. So it's not like I've got a natural flair or I was some child savant painting rembrandts at six years old. I'm a regular guy who can paint a solid tabletop standard when I give it 100 percent.
That said, there are hundreds of painting tutorials available for free on youtube by some exceptional painters, so I don't really see why I'd pay money for one.
Best of luck to the guy though.

I went to art school for 4 years and the most important thing I learned there is that you have to find a style that suits you, that will give you a sense of satisfaction when you look at the miniatures when they are painted but most importantly, that will allow you to get the stuff done!
Painting pyramids and other theories aside, I have found a way to get paint on my miniatures and be happy with them.
It is always great to see what some people can do with a brush and some paint. I enjoy watching them do it and watch the results but I just don´t paint miniatures to display them. Mine will be used in games and will get chipped and touched up. I take these things into account when I consider how much time I invest in my painting.
