New GW Lizardmen release

Post by spubbbba »

So GW have updated their Lizardmen army with a new army book and some very nice new plastics.

I think these have quite a bit of scope for BB conversions.

I think that Kroq Gar from the Carnosaur would be great as Slibli.

Whilst the skink from the same kit could work well as Hemlock, however there already are quite a few good skink models to use as him.

Skinks were always the problem as the plastic ones were very difficult to convert, unless you were prepared to put a lot of effort in you were usually better off using the existing BB models.

But I really like the new plastic Terradon/Ripperdactyl riders, they look a lot more dynamic and have some armour, so all you'd need to do is add shoulder pads. They even come with bits to make the special character Tiktaq'to who could be skink captain or Hemlock. Plus you get a toad to use as a marker.

For the rest of the team the existing Kroxigors and Temple Guard can be used.

They are indeed pretty cool, ashame they're only available in $60 sets. Getting lucky and scoring them from bitz sellers would be nice, but that might be pretty hard.

Also, I haven't seen the sprues, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kroq-Gar's legs were fused into that chair.

I'm 90 percent certain the legs will be useless.

Well signing up for bitz services mailing list often gives a headstart to grabbing key stuff. Though there are a couple of decent bitz suppliers on e-bay but they are based in the US which makes postage expensive.

The kit does allow you to have a saurus on foot since it has a 2nd pair of legs.
