Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
A forum for football mini's talk.......painting, converting etc. etc. or showing off great accessories that make playing the game easier, cooler or more fun.
We have a new great Big Guy minaiture now ready for release in plastic resin.
The Super Punch Troll. As long as he doesn't forget what he is doing that fist is really going to hurt when it connects after the wind up he is doing.
He stands 41mm to the eye from the base and is pictured on a 30mm Impact! base (included with figure). He is available now and is only $11 USD (7.51 GBP, 9,11E or $13.06 AUD).

That is not planned ... Impact! is moving away from pewter for financial reasons.
Bottom line ... there are waaayyy too many people thinking that they can make a mountain of money making pewter fantasy football figures for me to keep Impact! open as my full time job. This is a niche pie that has been sliced so small its beyond belief. In order to survive as a company ... we need to be something that no one else is ... and right now ... due to some very good fortunes ... we have the ability to offer plastic miniatures at a price point that no one else can so that is what we are going to focus on to not be one of the pack.
are some nails off the right leg in the plastic miniature pic?
The Troll has some broken nails because they ripped off when he stomped and kicked opponents who were in his way.

with prices for teams what they are, these days, this is gonna payoff big for impact! i'm not attacking anyones products. the teams, star players, big guys, and "commons", are terrific these days. but its hard to convience a new player to buy "into" the game anymore.
impact! has done an important thing here. i have not bought any of their plastic teams as yet. but tom was kind enough to send a few of the plastic impact! figures for prizes in my upcoming tourney in october.
i can say that the detail is supurb. i will be ordering the sercos in a few days.
now all tom has to do is make his rats team in plastic.
and that greek style human team. yeah, i want those 2 teams.
any idea were the rats and some of the other teams sit with converting to plastic, tom?
Next teams to be converted to plastic and put in the store will be:
Siringit Elfball (in store by August 7th) (with expansion to full Chaos / Chaos Pact / Orc / Human on October 1st)
Necromonicon/Cthulhu Team (in store by August 10th)
Black Rock Dwarf team with Hobimps (in store by August 10th)
Black Rock Dwarf team with Hobgoblins (in store by August 10th)
After those ... we have these 3 $35 teams planned.
Timberline Elf (16 Player team + JB Demon Treeman)
Middle Kingdoms team (16 Player team + MK Cyclops)
Pharaohs of Victoria (4 Anubis Blitzers, 2 Anubis Throwers, 2 Sobek #1, 2 Sobek #2, 4 Thoth, 2 Ra, 4 Bast and 2 Nekhbet) (that mix should allow you to make many different FF teams and the Elfball version as well).
The Ratmen team is way up on our list ... but we have heavy concerns on the tails snapping easily. We are considering possibly doing the figures in plastic and still selling them with 15 pewter tails on two or three sprues to go with the team. So once we figure out the tails for the Ratmen how best to do them ... we are also looking into casting the plastic for the tails around florist wire as an option ... this team will be on the list as well.
We also do have an Ogre team we are working on. It will be $35 for 6 Plastic Ogres and then we'll have two different Snotling 10 packs for $15 each. One from the designer of the Ogres and another from our Phigs Imps that have been popular for a while. I'm guessing this is a November release.

Glad to see impact going full on with the plastic revolution. Dont mind the troll, not too keen on the basis of the sculpt being ripper bolgrot mind but thats just personal preference.
tom, you have the greebo "buggers" in your online store. i've been thinking about buying a team, but i was wondering the size.
are they tiny, like the "small" 2nd ed gw snotlings, or bigger? i quite like the tiny snots(seems like everybody does ), and it always amazed me why noone has ever tried to make something like those. size wise, anyway...

They are tiny. A bit bigger than 2nd ED snots but not much.

For what it is worth to mention this. This figure is part of our Targeted program. Where sculptors send us work they've done that we did not ask for or commission or have any input into the design. If we approve the sculpt, we offer the amateur sculptor to pay to mould and cast the figure and give them 10 copies of it + 10% of the MSRP of the figure for every casting of the figure we order (not sales ... castings) until they are paid $15 USD per mm for the total height of the figure.
I started this program the first year that Impact! opened as a way to encourage amateur sculptors to get started. We've turned down a lot of figures over the years but we've taken in several as well.
As of today the Targeted program has paid amateur sculptors $36,619 USD over the 7 years we've been open. I've always wanted Impact! to support the miniatures community from the day it started ... this is one of the ways we do it.

The troll looks great. I'll grab him with my next order. Not sure what I'll do with him as I already have like 8 trolls but I just can't seem to say no, especially at that price.
