Painted team - 2nd edition metal elves

Post by HairyPete77 »

I loved playing as elves as a kid...almost as much as I loved the Chaos All-Stars (more on them another day).

These are from my old collection that was recovered from my dad's loft. I added a couple from ebay to pad out the linemen. I've painted them in a Galadrieth Gladiators style and it's the same scheme that I had them painted as a kid.

I'm playing these in my local league at the moment and I love seeing them dodge around the place and doing elfy things with the ball. I like the 2nd ed colours on the bases as well.

Having seen some of the prices etc on ebay I think that I'm quite lucky to have these in my collection. I'm certainly very proud to have them.

Thanks.

Yeah, for me these are the quintessential Blood Bowl elves and colours.

The models and the colour scheme (Galadrieth Gladiators) were all over the 2nd ed handbook and White Dwarf and made a lasting impression on me. I think I missed the bit in BB history when the Gladiators became High Elves but it makes me a little sad today as I'm not a fan of those GW minis at all. These are much nicer (but I know they are very static a plain to modern eyes).

Nice! Yeah, I agree, to hell with the coneheads. I use 2nd Edition for my High Elves and Pro Elves.
