Colour choice

Hi All,
Am looking to get the Greebo Sno Norse team very soon... trouble is the skin tones I have been using seem too dark for the norse to my eyes. Have been using the GW paints with base of ratskin flesh, wash and lighten with couple of lighter shades. Any recommendations for the lighter base at all?

Also am torn with what colour to do the uniforms. I know there's the classic cold blue colours and would like to avoid those because they've been done to a way higher standard than I can! A friend suggested that norse are gay, so threatening to go for Pink and Purple scheme just to wind him up.
Any suggestions on that greatly appreciated too! :-)

Cheers

Hissa, I used GW Kislev Flesh with a Seraphim Sepia wash to get the skin tone on my Zons... I used a couple of washes to get it a bit darker as this is what I wanted. Here is how it turned out...

I've also used Kislev Flesh with a Reikland Fleshshade wash - I found this gave a "pinker" looking finish which might work nicely if that's what you're after?

Yeah! Go full rainbow! I don't know that level of painting you feel comfortable with, but if you don't mind putting some time to it, try around with blue-ish shadows and really light highlights on a base of Cadian Fleshtone. It could be a lot of fun!

Go full out and copy the colors of the Spam can... maybe a creamy cheese colored base for the skin, cause... well, they is Spam & Cheese....

I use elf flesh and an old school "flesh wash" - heavily watered down - for Caucasian skintones, then highlight up with elf flesh, adding white to each layer.
