dreadball xtrem convicts

Post by sylvain »

hi, I haven't posted here for a long time, but I've some pics of the green of the convicts and their warden sponsor I did for Dreadball Xtrem (currently on kickstarter).
probably not very usefull for BB players, but still worth showing on a fantasy football forum :)

you can see a picture of the team and one more player here (pics are too big for the forum...): http://area51minis.blogspot.co.uk/2014/ ... .html#more

and while I'm posting here, this one was sculpted for regular DB last year (can't post the pics directly, they are too big :( ) http://area51minis.blogspot.co.uk/2014/ ... imian.html

Yes the warden is a great generic coach. The convicts look like French convicts :)

They're all great, except the "arms wide" guard - really hope that gets an alternative pose somewhere down the line.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Brilliant. I might have to look into dreadball. Coul you put a mini next to a GW dwarf or something as I have heard dreadball is true scale 25mm.

thanks all,

Chris, french convicts? why? I don't think they wear jumpsuits in french prisons?

Darkson: probably not, but you can bend the arms with hot water to change the pose easily

Stompie: unfortunatly the minis are already gone to casting, and I don't have GW minis here. Dreadball minis aren't 25mm but true 28mm to the eyes/ 30mm top of the head, they look smaller because of the positions and the more realistic proportions compared to chunky GW models or "heroic 28mm" models which are actually much bigger than 30mm.
that said those convicts are slightly bigger than the original dreadball humans, they probably wouldn't look out of place with GW minis, especialy the coach who is a big strong guy and the orc.
the round bases are 15mm, you can get an idea of the size of the models this way :)

Hairstyles and clothes make me think of the criminal areas in Banlieue 13...

I absolutely LOVE these for potential Crowd models. You could get a few to set up along the sideline to pummel unfortunate surfers. The Warden would make a good coach as well.
