Talk Fantasy Football

As Galak/Tom alluded to in another post, there's going to be an Elf team included in the giant Impact! kickstarter. I've long desired a successor to Jes Goodwin's classic 1988 team and in 2012 I got a local artist to draw up some concept art for me. Having never commissioned a team before, I struggled finding sculptors that either had the time or will to interpret the concepts.

Luckily, Tom saw the concepts and I was able to join him in the Impact! Targeted program. He commissioned some further concepts to flesh out the side, all of which have now been sent off to the sculptor Juan Miguel. You may have seen Juan Miguel's fine work with the Impact! Amazon team, I'm expecting him to turn out the same excellent work with this side.

The team will consist of at least (TBC) 1 Thrower, 2 Catchers, 2 Blitzers and 4 Linemen. There are concepts completed for all five Pro Elf stars that will be integrated as stretch goals.

Here's some of the concepts, for a taster:





I wanted the elves to bear a bit more armour than Pro Elves (the Thrower and Linemen esp) so they will do double duty as a High Elf side as well, or possibly even Dark Elves with a bit of conversion. I hope you like them!

I've got the 2nd ed ones, but like the concepts for these, though maybe a bit cartoony*. Granted that's just sketches, so would like to see how they turn out.

I really like the concept art but is it me or is that should pad on the first thrower really oversized? He would never be able to lift that left arm with a shoulder pad that big.

Oversized shoulder pads are the way things should be. I'd like more minis to be made in the style of the 2ed artwork with *huge* padding, no matter how unrealistic. This is 'fantasy' football after all.

Love them. I suspect I'll be pledging for these too!

Yup the team will have 9 unique sculpts and will have 2 of each of them in it for $35 for an 18 player team (2 Throwers, 4 Blitzers, 4 Catchers and 8 Linemen). A deluxe version for $45 with all 5 of the elven Pro Elf stars will be available with stretch goals unlocking.

Really like where these are going, only shame is the limited individual models as I like everything unique

not a fan of the hair on the catcher, looks too much like the Cyanide pro elf catcher "onion head" for my tastes, otherwise great...

I'm not sold on the thrower.
The others look damn fine !
