Norse "Darkly" presents...

my first team in a long, long time...

I've always been a huge fan of mixed race BB - it's why I wrote Colleges of Magic rules after all - but I always hated the fact that mixed race teams hardly ever really looked cohesive on the field or in the dungeon because most coaches cobble them together from other teams. I've been running a Cynanide Dungeon Bowl league for the last few months and took my Dark College team, Dark Matter, to the final. Sadly I lost the match, but I thought a 11-2 record was worth immortalizing in a painted team... 8)

a few comments up front...

Trolls - converted light warbeasts from Hordes, awesome minis for $11 each on eBay!
Dark Elves - supreme kit-bashing here, some of you will dislike the cloaks and perhaps the 40K elements, but I'm happy with them
Skellies - Jesus, GW plastics are getting worse and worse - horrible multi-parts compared to 5 or 10 years back, so little detail! :-(
Head Coach - 80s Chaos Sorceror, and my first ever attempt at OSL which I also tried emulating around the eyes of the skellies
Paintjob - always wanted to try painting "evil" guys in organic bone armour - it looks much better in the flesh, but I think it works...

enjoy fellas! anyone wanting to play in a Cyanide DB league please PM me! :D

Hey, Rams, the team looks good. You still have the touch.

I was also planning on using that bouncer but on seeing that pic I think they might be a little too big for my taste. I like the range though so will look at one of the smaller models.

Fantastic job on the cohesion, the bone armour looks great and really brings the team together

I think the scale is perfect actually.. they're also quite squat and chunky, which I prefer for BGs in general...

thanks for the nice words.. :-)

I'll never be sold on dark eldar for Blood Bowl, but you've certainly made the most of them. A very nice and cohesive team. The coach is my favorite, I think.

Love the conversions (though I initially thought the elves should have no hands because of all those spikes :D ).

Great colour scheme too.

Congrats on another great team!

Look great. The Dark Elves are a little heavily armored, but they are unique and very dungeon-y.

(the one that actually got played at a Colleges of Magic cup a few years back now).
