Sand dune effect bases
Anyone based a team with sand dunes at all?
Am looking at doing a team differently for a change, and having more trouble finding tips for it that usual!
Cheers

No, but if I was going to do this, I'd first carve and sand the rolling surface of the dune with foam then paint it a sandy colour before liberally applying sand weathering powder. I think weathering powder is your best bet to get some in-scale sand texture.

I cheated and used resin bases that where designed as generic desert bases. Some had sand dunes, some cracked earth.

They look nice, unfortunately have already stuck to plain bases! are lipped ones (like the necro I bought off you) so at least have some depth to mess around with!Don__Vito wrote:I cheated and used resin bases that where designed as generic desert bases. Some had sand dunes, some cracked earth.

Re: Sand dune effect bases
I can't find the tutorial for it, but since even fine grain sand is still big for miniatures, I remember someone using snowflock mixed with PVA glue to get a nice dune/drift look.
