Ogre conversions form the plastic ones of warhammer

My brother has converted 5 ogres from a WFB Bull Ogres box and he also has painted them. He has tried to give them a little more dynamic poses cutting off the legs and/or the feet and also repositioning the arms. He also has sculpted the shoulder pads and helmets with Green Stuff so they are more Blood Bowl like.

An ogre team isn't completed without the snotlings but for the moment we are not certain if we are going to make them from scratch or if we are going to modify some gnoblars or some gretchins, that's going to be the part of the team made by me so for the moment until I have more spare time they'll have to wait.

Below you can see more pictures of each of the ogres and a little explanation of the main modifications.

Ogre 01: both legs of this ogre were cut so it could be bend down, also the neck was changed so he would be looking forward instead of looking to the ground.

Ogre 02: This is the less aggressive of the lot. The changes are mainly to the arm positions to separate them from the body.

Ogre 03: This was the easiest, he only has the arm for the champion with a little modification in its position.

Ogre 04: This one is in a light jog because he is needed elsewhere. To do it my brother change both feet of the model for the ones of the other model, not sure if this is the A model or the B model but basically cut the feet of a A model and of a B model and place the ones from the A in the B and viceversa.

Ogre 05: This last one is my favourite and is clearly doing a blitzing action. To make it he changed the right foot from the right foot of the other ogre model and glue the ogre to the base through the tip of that foot. Unless you have some spare foot around this will mean that you will end up with an ogre with two "flat" feet although you can make a pegleg for that ogre to give it a little more personality.

Personally I think my brother has done a remarkable job giving some movement to some really static miniatures and I really like them, I hope you too!

You can see more blood bowl conversions made by me or my brother in this forum and also in my blog.

I think the same way. Especially the helmets and the pads give them the little something they need. For my team I`m using Ironguts, since they come quite padded already, but if my GS skills would be better, I`d prefer the way your brother modified the ogres. The only thin I`d rather see is round bootcaps. The pointy ones look a little bit odd.

Where is the 6th Ogre?
5 are not enough.

Thanks Dino, the pointy bootcaps are not great Is one fault that I also see, when converting our ogre for the human team we sculpted boots without any reinforcement. I gues my brother likes them or didn't want to work too much on them.

For the moment there is no 6th ogre. ¿Why 5 are not enought? As far as I know is crazy to put 6 ogres in the pitch at the same time, statistically one of them will fail the "bone-head" test per turn.

With five it happens more often not less.
With 5 ogres you have to move them all almost every turn.
With 6 you cover the pitch a lot better and you can manage to activate 3 or 4 most turns(with good planning).

And when you fail a bonehead with one of six ogres, you have got an extra ogre to fill the gap.
With five you do it with a snotling.....
And if you have five and lose one....

I would play with less then 6 ogres only in the beginning of a league to get RR.
In a tourney I would rather play with no RR than with 5 ogres.

Absolutely remarkable job!
Love how dynamic they are, and how your brother managed to make them look very 'sports' like.

As mentioned by others, the 6th Bone Head is too useful to leave out.
:)

Edit: Any WIP pics (greens or the sorts)?

I only use max 5 ogres in tournaments, personally.

Thank you all for your comments, for the moment there are still the snots missing so maybe we convert another ogre at the same time even if we end up not using him.
