My converted Chaos Dwarf team

I'm using ungor as hobgoblins and, as it stands, I'm converting the chaos dwarves from a mix of chaos warrior and dwarf parts. I'm still open to suggestion on that though, as I'm not quite sure about this first one.

I've never been a fan of the dwarf plastics, but you've made it look nice here. I like the look of them. I don't know if you can make the dwarf look more BB-like in any way, but I like what I see so far.
Get the bases done and a few more dwarfs and post them then. I would like to see them finished.
(although I am a bit partial to the big hats...)

I like the looks of them. Just out of curiousity, why Ungors for Hobgoblins?

I like the look as well! I'd say go for it and complete the squad!

I like the look of this Dorf much better then the pointy hats. I know some people really like them like that but I think it's just a way for short people to try to look taller. Next they will be sporting high heels.

Your right he should. I'll have to see what I can find to add to the others when I make them. Although the dwarf hands are big enough to begin with.
Just out of curiousity, why Ungors for Hobgoblins?
Basically, I figured if I got a chaos warriors box and a beastmen box, I could make a chaos team and do this one with the leftover ungor and warriors.
I figure as the dwarves are intended to look like mini chaos warriors, the ungor (mini beastmen) fit right in. Hopefully the team will look like a smaller variation on the look of the chaos team. I wouldn't want to use the metal hobgoblins that are associated with the big hat look in the same team as more old fashioned chaos dwarves. They're not a bad match for the statline either, as they're about human sized and don't wear much. Just assume their horns (or necks) are too puny to attack with.

Makes me want to get my *ss in gear and finish painting the CDs I converted in a similar way (plastic WH dwarf bodies, CW heads), but I thought they needed to look a little more BBish so I added some CSM shoulderpads (I'm not good with greenstuff). BTW, I had these converted and ready to paint a year ago (not joking

) but only have a handfull partially painted. The major difference with mine is that I based my team on 2ed CDs, so they have blitzers, throwers, and mutants. I decided that I might want to play these at a tourny 'cus I liked the way they tourned out, so I bought some WH hobgobs, snipped weapons and added the CSM shoulderpads (looks much better than BB hobgobs IMO). I decided to keep the retro feel of the team and make boar centaurs instead of bull centaurs as they were originally part of CD army before the bulls were (and make more sense if you think about it, a dwarf torso would fit nicely on a boar's body, but a dwarf torso on a bull's body doesn't really sound like the scale would work). So I have a 2 in 1 team, 2ed CDs or regular CDs with boar centaurs (just use same stats as BCs). Anyway, I have gone on too long, I will try to get them painted up and post some pics.

As said before: get the bases done, get the rest of the team done and show us pictures.

Some knuckleduster might add to the BB-theme.
Keep up the great work!!!

Hi!
I have to say that I like your CD's, but why ungors as hobgoblins?
Actually I've been planning on fielding a CD team for some time and a while back our local game shop had a clearance on all Target Games/Excelsior games like Warzone and Chronopia. All the stuff was 75% off so I bought Chronopia dwarfs for CDs and BCs and goblins for hobgoblins. So far I have nearly finished converting the CDs.
Here are the original miniatures:

I'll be using the guy on the left as BC torso
http://excelsiorentertainment.com/catal ... hp?pID=55'
http://excelsiorentertainment.com/catal ... hp?pID=117
As you can see some of these boys have cast shields which were a pain to get rid of but I'll have to get pics for you during the weekend with my digicamera.
The hobos will be converted from these goblins:

(haven't even started on these guys yet)
Anyway this is one of my long term projects.
over and out

Here's another two. Not based or varnished yet.
Saved at 50% size and quality for your convenience.
The ungor is meant to be a kicker, not sure if the pose is quite right. As well as fixing the teeth on the boar centaur, I might try adding some sort of brand or mark to make the flanks more interesting.

That Bull is quite good. I think the kicking pose is good, maybe a little less on the ankle bend but looks great.
