Do Star Players start with Star Player Points?

Post by High & Mighty »

Is every star player assumed to come with 0 spps or the minimum number of SPPs to make them a legend when it comes to resolving handicaps such as In the Bag?

They actually have no SPPs (as opposed to zero, which would imply that they had some at all.) For the purposes of "In the Bag", they should be treated as having the highest possible SPPs.

:-? Isn't that contradictory?

Maybe we need some clarification saying that for handicap results Star Players are considered to have 250 SPPs (or whatever).

Now you got me Ian? What do you mean. Handicap rolls are made based on the TRatings of both teams at the start of the match. It does not change by hiring freebooters. Could you clarify your statement for me, cause I think (knowing you  ) I'm reading this totally wrong. :smoking:

Forget it I read it wrong!!!!   :smoking:

If I read what John says right it means that any star you have effectively counts as having 1 spp more than the player on your team with the highest SPP total.

Yeah I read it that way too (so I learned something today too!).. but what if you hire two stars (rich git!)? Roll a dice to choose I guess..

we've never had it come up (nobody uses stars much round here) but I always assumed that they would be ignored in that handicap event, since SPP don't really apply to them. Just pick the player on your team with the most earned spp. in a fundamental sense, freebooted players are never really "on your team" anyway, right?
