Chainsaw/Poisonned Dager and movement

Post by kadu-c »

Just to make things clear:
When you move and attack with these secret weapons, does it count as your team's Blitz action for this turn ?

don't remember the dagger, but the chainsaw is in place of a block, so yes, if you move and use it on a player, it is your team blitz

Now that you mention it, I wasn't even sure if you could use it as a Blitz action.

Doesn't "normal block" imply no Blitz? Not sure, just curious...

Chainsaw and Dagger attacks both count as a Block, so moving and using them is a Blitz. And a Blitz is just a "normal" Block combined with a moving action, so you can Blitz with a weapon.

A follow-up question.

When you use the Chainsaw or dagger for a blitz does it cost a move for the blitz action (like on a normal blitz)?

It has been debated in our league if it does or not. You don't actually move forward when you use the saw or dagger, like you do when you blitz normally.

It costs anyway. All ruels of a blitz have to be followed.

It costs a movement because after a block you can move into the square where your opponent was (unless of course you rolled a block result or your opponent has stand firm).
Dagger and Chainsaw are worked out as a block so with a normal chainsaw attack you would also be allowed to follow up on your attack.

That is why it will allways cost you 1 MA from your blitz! They are worked out as normal blitzes. :smoking:

Unless I'm mistaken, a Chansaw attack will never result in any sort of push-back result. You either break the armour (in which case the victim will be dropped in it's current square or removed from the pitch as a casualty) or have no effect on the victim.

that is correct. Chainsaw is an automatic knockdown, but no push back. And it still cost one MA if used as part of a blitz.

The LRB wording on Blitz's is that the block costs a point of move.

The point I was trying to clear up was the idea that you don't get to "follow up" after a Chainsaw or Dagger attack. Other than that, a Blitz with a Chainsaw or Dagger behave just like a normal Blocking Blitz.
