Throw ins

Post by Marcus »

When a ball is thrown in do you count 2d6 squares from the sideline or 2d6 squares from the square marked with the ball on the template.

The rules (p4 LRB 1.3) say "counting from the square marked with the ball" but the accompanying illustration clearly shows the throw-in measured as starting with the square marked with the ball

Does anyone have a definitive answer on this one as it cost Deathwing a touchdown ;)

Start counting from the square it pops back onto. The square it pops onto is square 1.

Yep, I agree, based upon the afore mentioned illustration.

Might be worth mentioning that to Andy. The rules are worded differently. Should say "starting with the square marked with the ball"

Since within the last year I had to program it for the PBeM tool I asked the gurus.

The last square the ball was in when it left the pitch is the first square of the throw-in.
