Hello all,
I'm a new blood bowl player with 2 rules questions. I thought these were in the rule book, but I can't fine em.
1. If I roll a 1 for a bonehead does that end my team turn?
2. What is the order of doing things on the kickoff? We played place ball, roll on kickoff chart, scatter ball, resolve kickoff table result. This meant that when my opponent rolled a blitz on the kickoff table I had a chance to pick up the ball as the ball was scattered before I moved my players. Sadly I was not able to get the ball. Thanks for the replies
On another note, I was able to kill a mummy in my second ever league game with a human lineman!

1-Not anymore. 4ed was bad, bur 2k1 dont give a TO
2-ok, in 2k1, i learned it from Longfang on his blitz....this is:
Place the ball, roll dices, scatter the ball but not bounce it, and resolve kickoff table. then it fall down and bouce.
So on a blitz ,you can put somebody in the landing square but even if catch the ball, the blitz is over.
One question comes to my mind, this cant apply for Bad kick...Anybody else? This way is not perfect but it makes the Blitz less effective than lmanding the ball and then doing the blitz.

1: Rolling a 1 for a bonehead DOES NOT end your team turn. It no longer counts as a turnover in the latest rules update.
2: Kick off order of precedence:
a) Roll on the Kick Off Table, resolve the result ASAP.
This leaves a couple of tricky situations:
Bad Kick: Obviously, this can only scatter once the ball is placed, so place the ball and then resolve the kick. By the strict letter of the rules, you ought to roll for scatter and then choose where you place the ball, but this is beardy and evil, and you deserve to be fouled into the sidelines for this sneaky gobbo tactic!
Perfect Defence: Kicking coach moves his players, then the ball is placed.
Fooled Ya!: Receivers move one square, then place the ball.
AND THE INTERESTING ONE...
Blitz!: Kicking team has the bonus turn, THEN the ball is placed. This is to prevent the kicker from receiving the ball and gettingit too far up. The bonus turn just allows you to get catchers in position and do some crumping before the ball comes down. Thus, the Blitz! result has the downside that it can stretch your defence; since you can't get the ball safe.
b) Place the ball
c) Scatter the ball
d) Receiver's turn
e) Kicker's turn
f) etc...
Hope that helps, and congrats on killing the dusty ol' guy!

Hi dwisetiger... and welcome to TBB
As for the answer to your questions according to LRB 1.3:
This means that if the ogre declares, for instance, a pass, and you roll a 1 for bonehead, you are not allowed another pass action this turn with another player.
As for the answer to your questions according to LRB 1.3:
No, it doesn't cause a turnover but you have to declare the action the ogre wants to do before rolling for bonehead. If I roll a 1 for a bonehead does that end my team turn?

The sequence is correct but 'bounce ball' should be added at the end (p19 of LRB 1.3). If the kicking team enjoys a blitz from the kicking table, and they manage to get a player into the same square as the ball, this player could try to catch it (not pick-up since it's still in the air). If this fails, the ball bounces. What is the order of doing things on the kickoff? We played place ball, roll on kickoff chart, scatter ball, resolve kickoff table result.
