Hiring a journeyman

Post by Rune »

In the post-match sequence it says the following about hiring a journeyman:
If you hire a Journeyman, he loses the Loner skill but may retain any Star Player points he earned or skills learned from Improvement rolls.

I guess this means he doesn't retain any injuries he might have suffered. Is that intended?

He would keep the injuries also..the only change is that he loses Loner. Tho I don't understand why someone would hire a player that is injured in some way. maybe only a MNG as then you have a skilled player (the only time I'd hire a journeyman is if they got a skill, but some may hire them if they got some spp's).

Hmmm, I agree with Rune. It specifically mentions SPPs and skills, but not injuries, so a strict (read beardy) reading of that doesn't include injuries. Perhaps one for the FAQ.

However, as commish I'd punch a coach that tried that one. ;)

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Another Comish that knows how to run a league.
I find a stiff jab to the nose usually does the trick.

Only the loss of the loner skill is mentioned but no the loss of injuries.

Yup, that way sounds better. It only mentions losing the Loner skill, nothing else, so i would say the injury carries

I agree ... since it doesn't say the player loses the effects of any injury ... I definitely would say they stay.

In this case I disagree with Darkson ... I think omission would definitely indicate the effect stays.
