I have used it a couple of times. I won with my wood elf vs orc team. I hade 4 players when I did my third TD, no kidding and won the match 3-0, but got 0-6 in cas. My opponent was going nuts when I drew his players downfield to my endzone and then run up with wardancer and catchers just to throw the ball behind enemy lines. The orcs didnt have the speed to follow up.

I have also done it with LRB4 when I played Humans vs chaos dwarfs. Up with catchers and then run like hell and just throw the ball. Even if a hobgoblin should have the chance to pick up the ball, in a rookie match there is not much rerolls for that and then it can easily be a turn-over.

Just today I used it again. A bit different, but something most likely to be good. I played my vampire against an orc player. I was lucky to blitz down his ballcarrier and the ball went out to the crowd that threw it onto his side. I run up to the ball with a thrall and threw it down towards his endzone. Turn-Over.
He hade none orc that was fast enough to get to the ball but he put tacklezone on the "thrower" and was trying to blitz down my vampire, without succes, so In the next turn I blitz the thrall free and went for the ball.

Thats the three times I used it that I can remeber, but I have probably done it more. Sometimes when there is only two turns left and I will not risk my leading result I often go for the "punt" so my opponent can't tie the match.

Good tactics for many teams. So the rules to pass to an empty square should still be possible.

EDIT: I really enjoy using Dump-Off with Hail Mary Pass and put the ball anywhere I wan't just to see my opponents face.....
turn out like yours. I'm joking!

Is that legal? I thought Dump-Off had to be a quick pass...

Just went through the rules for HMP and Dump-Off. Dump-Off says that only a Quick Pass can be attempted. But HMP says that the range ruler is ignored. So just following the rules blindly, I would have to say that yes, using HMP on a Dump-Off is probably legal.

But I suspect that this was not the intent, as it doesn't make much sense to me to allow this skill combo. I have always imagined a dump-off as a backward under-hand throw to a running-back, so not much strength in the throw. The ball won't make it accross the field.

Although if it is allowed, that's a pretty funny play (although not sure it is that effective).

Actually

As is written, it allows u to make a Quick Pass, nowhere does it mention that u can attempt something else like in this case HMP. For that to be allowed it would have to state "This skill allows the player to take a Pass Action etc.".

Further more.
It seems to me that it is impossible to attempt a HMP as u can only do that when u declare a Pass Action with an active player on your team and as it is your opponents turn your players are not active

I disagree. No where in HMP description does it mention anything about pass action or whatnot. If you're making a pass for any reason it looks like you can use this skill if you have it.

I'm saying it's against the spirit of the rules but these rules have become so complex that this slipped through and it would be allowed.

Its like a "punt". Kicking the ball away from yourself (HMP).

At first I was kidding, but now it seems legal!
