Frenzy and Block

Post by Kotobuki »

If a player with Frenzy and Block directs a Block or Blitz action at an opposing player with Block, rolls Both Down, and both players elect to use the Block skill to stay standing, may the Frenzied player throw a second block?

Just curious, as this happened multiple times in a game last night, and it felt wrong at the time, but I didn't want to push the issue.

No. There is no push result so there is no 2nd block.

I agree with Snew, you have to get "Push" or "Defender Stumbles" which becomes a push if the target has Dodge for Frenzy to kick in.

Stand Firm beats Frenzy, then, right?

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

not really..as you still rolled the push..and are adjacent to the SFirm player, so you get your frenzy block

Thats true... doesn't it say that the roll needs to be a push etc... Therefore Stand firm does nothing to prevent the 2nd hit. (Since you rolled a push or what-have-you)

Yep, the dice roll needs to be a push result. That is even after the use of skills.
So blitzing with Juggernaut would make a Both Down result change to a pushback result. Frenzy then also would apply.
And blocking a player with dodge and the throwing POW/Dodge would also change into a Push back result and therefor Frenzy applies for that as well.
