Fumbbl throwing distance vs boxed set throwing distance

Fumbbl throwing distance vs boxed set throwing distance
The distance on a short pass on fumbbl is 7 squares ahead, but when i look and my boxed set, it's just short. what gives?

The boxset is right, FUMBBL is incorrect (it might be listed in the "Differences from boardgame" text file).
