Ball & Chain and tentacle/shadowing...

Post by Marco Gianni »

Hello,

I would like a clarification about that :

Does a Ball & Chain player have to make a shadowing (or tentacle) throw to move out from the tackle zone of such players ?

Same question for the leap : if a player attempt to leap from a tentacle (shadowing or even diving tackle) player tackle zone, does he have to make a throw for that ?

Well, for me there's no dodge roll to make for a Ball & chain player or for a leap, so no tentacle or shadowing roll... Am I right ?

Thanks for the answers ;)

I know you still need to make a roll for leap. I'm not sure about those other questions though...

Tentacles doesn't work because its rules say "opposing player
attempts to dodge or leap out of any of his tackle zones". Ball & Chain neither dodges or leaps. (however it works on leap because it says it does).

Shadowing does work because its rules say "The player may use this skill when a player performing an Action on the opposing team moves out of any of his tackle zones for any reason."

=

Tentacles ... no on Ball & Chain and yes on Leap
Shadowing ... yes on both

In the case of shadowing, leap can be used to ensure the shadowing player can not follow, however. So often a single leap is better than a chain of dodges, especially on a Slann catcher.

Just to be clear ... a shadowing player can follow a Leap player just if he leaps 2 squares (instead of 1) than the Shadow player will enter the square that he left which will not allow him to be adjacent to use the skill again.

Thanks :)

So a shadowing player can follow a frenzy blocker or blitzer ? that's it ? The shadowing/guard combo becomes a must.

Certainly seems like an interesting skill to put on a human blitzer with their very respectable MV7.
