I was wondering if the following situation would be a turnover?
Player A is a player holding the ball with the skills Dump off and Wrestle.
Player B is an opposing player with block who is about to blitz or block player A.
Player A declares the dump-off and wil pass over the head of player B.
Player B tries to intercept: 6 woohoo!!
Player B rolls both down on the block and player A declares he'll use wrestle.
Result player B (active team and holding ball) is placed prone. This constitutes a turnover as per page 7.
Personally Im ok with this being a turnover, but it is a bit awkward.
Dump off, interception and wrestle. Possible turnover?

Please could you clarify, as you state that player B is the Blitzer.
If player B is the Blitzer, he must be on the active side (the team of the coach taking the turn).
Player A, although he dumps off the ball, is not "active" in the same sense - he cannot be active as it is not his team's turn.
A turnover does indeed occur, when player B is Wrestled to the ground, as he is an active player from the moving team. The turn would end at this point.
Hope this helps.

Yep, I just see I made an error in my post. One reference to player A should be player. A.Smeborg wrote:Mepmuff -

Top post edited.
All in all this isnt really a question. Rules say it's a turnover and just makes wrestle a good skill combined with dump-off.

I don't see this happening very often.mepmuff wrote:All in all this isnt really a question. Rules say it's a turnover and just makes wrestle a good skill combined with dump-off.
On a related note, player B could also opt not to intercept, but that's probably minimising risks a bit too far.
Anyway, for some reason I've always imagined Dump off being used to throw the ball away from, not towards, the blocking player. Silly me.

Actually no he cannot.Draco wrote:B could also opt not to finish the blitz action. After he caught the ball, simply don't throw the block dice.
In the FAQs it states that a block started must be completed. So he cannot stop the block.
And yes this would be a turnover if it happened as described.
