I agree.

The opponent has everything to gain from the active player forgetting to roll armour and the rest of the move has no impact on the result of the knockdown for the opponent.

Sounds like you were winning and he was just being a loser. Either way, from what you said, he appears to be a jerk and a loser for not allowing the 'roll back' as no other dice had been rolled for any other player action that could have effected this player's position on the field.

I second this opinion. I always remind my opponent to roll for armour against my own player even if they have continued to move or not. Perhaps he's not a jerk and has merely beemn confused by another player but ideally he should have let you roll as per in-keeping with the spirit of the game.

On blitz actions we often allow the player to continue with whatever he's doing (especially if the block and knock down was part of some elaborate plan involving punching a hole, dodging, picking up the ball, dodging, multiple GFIs, etc.) so that we can concentrate on the action. After the moves are done, we go back to do the armor roll. Generally, the armor roll has NO impact on the rest of The Plan, so it's not an issue. I also always remind my opponent to roll for armor breaks against my team if he forgets.

The armor roll isn't an option. And while it makes sense to just do it immediately after the knock down, if it doesn't happen right then, it doesn't matter - it still needs to be done. We sometimes also forget to un-stun players before a turnover occurs. In those cases as well, we just perform a clean-up and un-stun the appropriate players. I've not yet played with anyone that didn't allow *mandatory* actions.

he has no call not letting you roll AV, because it's not an optional roll, so he was being a jerk and incorrect to boot

How 'pro' is this league.

I found it hard not to be leninent, I would have allowed it. If play goes like that, make sure you move the turn counter. I know some players don't and are reminded but I would call and nick rerolls off of them, or gain them etc.

he wants to play like that then stick him with other rules.
