Nope, ball lands in the KO phase, then your turn starts. That's why a player can't use a TRR on a failed catch for a KO.

I would say yes to this actually. The rules have sections on scoring on your turn and scoring in the opponents turn. There is no mention of scoring during the KO phase. So you catch the ball during the KO which ends the KO phase. Then your opponents first turn starts, one of your players is holding the ball during their turn which scores a TD. You advance your turn marker as well due to the prolonged celebrations and then kick off again.

You may be correct - it was an old league (LRB1? 2?), and we probably got a lot of rules wrong then. I've not managed it since, especially not since the TTM rules changed and they removed Ogres from the Orc team.

Having said that, (assuming you're correct), we'd still have played it that way, as losing 2 turns without getting to do anything would be worse funwise (here) than being 2-0 down.

Although I feel that I'm right ruleswise, Darkson seems to raise a valid point. it would be a bit harsh to have an essentially free score AND run down the clock.

But you can run a (usually fast) player to where the ball is going to land, and then get a free attempt to catch it.
I got some serious giggles out of doing this - once in a while, my skink kicker w. MA 9 was able to catch the very ball he kicked deep into the other team's end of the pitch! I don't know why, but I thought that was satisfyingly hilarious.

Spidey88 - if you combine the Kick skill with a very fast and agile player with Diving Catch, the possibility of running into the opponent's end zone on a Blitz result and catching the ball there becomes realistically possible, rather than being a freak event.

So the original question is worth asking.
