this is posted on behalf of my friend Dominik:
We have a local discussion about the Team Value and amount of players you can use in a match.
The dispute is as follows;
I have 15 players in my roster and my TV is 2.160.000.
My opponent has 12 players in his roster and a TV of 1.680.000.
I would only choose 12 players for this match and bring my TV down to 1.720.000 so the difference between our TV is only 40.000 instead of 480.000.
He says that I can’t do that, while I argue that I can because the TV rule states as follows;
”…The value of a team is worked out by adding up the value of the players that will play for the team in its next match…” (ref; LRB 6, p. 25 under “Team Value”)
I understand this as I’m allowed before the match, while we’re still arranging it, to choose the players I would use and no less than 11 players.
His argument is that you don’t know when to state that you’re using less players that your roster, and all players that are not injured or “Missed next game” must be included in the TV.
So, who’s right and what’s the thought behind the wording of that phrase?
Can i remove af player from a team for a single match?

Your friend is right, every player has to be included. The only way to lower your tv would be to sack the player in question permanently.
I think the line quoted is referring to not including players who are due to miss the next game.

You can retire players, thus removing them from your team permantly, or if they are MNG they don't count towards you TV. The wording of the rule is in reference to MNG I think, but there are better minds on this site to answer that than me. Your best off asking the commish of your league if he allows "benching" of players, but according to the CRP I would say no.

Benching would be a house-rule.

The fact that you want to reduce your tv show that your team has recurs that keel where inducements against you are becoming very important.
You haveto think whether you are attached to your players and their cute skills or if you'd rather trim the team to less bench and less TV.
It's a coaching game, and this is where tactic comes into play off the pitch. You can't have it both ways.
I'd take the inducement if I were you unless your team is made up of not so useful skills, in which case it's time to fire some.
If you were right, everyone would have 16 players and have a few tackle linos, a few wrestle Lino etc.... And field just what they need.
