I've made a spreadsheet to help you design new teams/players for the CRP ruleset, since old guides are outdated.
The spreadsheet contains three parts:
- 1. A player cost calculator based on Jervis Johnson's formula:
- The original formula (JJO in the spreadsheet)
- A modified (CRPified) version (JJN in spreadsheet)
- 2. My formula with a different approach: There are no negative values in the base stats so even an MA1 ST1 AG1 AV1 player has a positive cost. It includes costs for the various skill accesses. Finally the costs of skills are differ based on the access of the skill (If the player would only gain the skill by rolling a double then it results a higher cost). My formula has also two parts:
- One with the plain sum of the values (RSB in the spreadsheet)
- And the other which is a rounded to 10000 value. I recommend to use this one of the two (RS in the spreadsheet)
- 3. There is a Checklist to verify your newly created team if it fits to the Fantasy Football standards. It also shows you the official teams in all categories. Two parts again:
- John Kipling Lewis' guideline
- Some additional guidelines made by me
- There are statistics for all the four models (JJO, JJN, RSB, RS) for the 105 positions of the actual costs of the official rosters (incl. CP, UW, Slann). My model (RS) is better by standard deviation but JJN is better by expected value. They are very close to each other. So I recommend you to consider both JJN and RS when determining cost of a player position. If there is an interval between the two, use your experience
- Any help to enhance the models, or make them better is welcomed of course. I hope some of you will enjoy the use of them.
- Star Player cost determination is not included yet but i plan to make it soon.
- Originally I made the spreadsheet to design teams for an all-Nehekhara League, similar to the Dwarf league included in Blood Bowl Annual 2003. I will also post the rosters to TFF soon, but if you are interested you can find them here.
