Re: Pick up a ball

duckwing you kill me

EVERY step of blood bowl has a do this, do this, do this
the same thing with the event of ending your turn.

CLEARLY listed in turnover #3 picking up the ball it does not say wait until the ball comes to rest as it does in passing
CLEARLY in each section the results a EXTREMELY different

Picking up the ball: Turn ends immediately ("don't pass go, don't collect $200 :D " )
Passing: Turn ends AFTER you resolve the scatter

do you see the difference in the rules of each event?
(I thought not)

Picking up the ball is in no way associated with passing the ball. They are as equal as a block to a foul to a move to a fumble.
on all 6 you can eventually end up scattering the ball, but only after the turn has ended with ONE exception.
PASSING is the only one in which you resolve the scatter before the end of the turn.
In the processes you suffer a turnover and will complete the turnover sequence, and also pass if that ball comes to rest in an empty square.

player ACTION ends = the model on the field, not you

The examples I listed in the previous post about when do you scatter the ball, you find that it happens in a certain order.
The bottom of page 7 gives you that order for the turnover (such as a failed pickup)
end Action
roll A/I
Roll scatter
roll stuns over

so all together class ....
you roll the scatter after the player ACTION ends and any necessary proceeding rolls are made (just like any other time)
Passing being the only listed SPECIAL exception to that rule.

SO if this was a GFI ....
John trips turnover
Player Action ends
rolls A/I
roll scatter
turn stun players
opponents turn

Block (player has ball)
skull
make model prone
Player ACTION ends
roll A/I
roll scatter
turn stunned players
opponents turn

Foul (player has ball)
doubles
player ACTION ends
player is removed
drop ball it scatters
turn stunned players
opponents turn begins

Fumble
player ACTION ends
roll scatter
turn stuns
opponents turn begins

pickup
player action ends
roll scatter
turn stuns
opponents turn begins

*throw (not fumble)
<inaccurate>
SCATTER BALL 3 TIMES
<or accurate>
ball comes down
If player there catch
if empty bounce
if player there catch
if out of bounds throw in
bounce catch bounce catch bounce
if the pass is caught play on as normal
if the ball come to rest in an empty square the turn ends and it is a turnover.
player ACTION ends
turn stun players
opponent turn begins

I hope this help you understand the sequences used in blood bowl to manage the micro steps in every little aspect of the game

*** the opponent's turn begins after you turn you stun players unless there is a preceding card or wiz ****
^^ you cannot forget to turn your players from stun to prone anymore they are all automatically considered turned over, weather you touched the figure or not^^
