Leap Skill

Post by Gremdel »

I'm sure this is rather straight forward, but I don't understand the following wording of the leap skill:
A Leap does not ignore tackle zones and it is not a Dodge movement...
So does that mean that a player jumping out of a tackle zone (or two) doesn't have to dodge as well (that's what I get)? But what does it mean about "does not ignore tackle zones"?

(Edit Post: Does that line only refer to the fact that tentacles works against a leap?).

Thanks

"Doesn't ignore tackle zones" means that players can still shadow, use tentacles, etc against a leaping player. But there are no mods for tackle zones, and you don't have to make a dodge roll.

Never realised you can shadow a leaping player, how does that work?

If the leaping player leaps over a third player on your team where does your shadowing player end up? Or do you just get to shadow one square the loose the leaping player because of his speed?

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

Shadowing works exactly the same as usual. If your shadowing roll works you move to the square that was just vacated by the leaping player. You won't be next to the leaping player so can't shadow him again, but you have been able to move and that might still be useful.

Oh, kind of obvious when you think about it!
