A small question on throw in
In the LRB it is said that when the ball scatters of the pitch :
1- You put the template next to the sideline. Next to the square that was the last square the ball was ni before getting off the pitch.
2- You throw a dice for direction, then 2 dices for distance
3- You count the throw in from the ball drawn on the template. If it falls on an empty square, it scatters.
I have a question on point 1 and 3.
Point 1 ==> No ambiguity here. If the balls goes out in a diagonal, then the last square is not in front of the hypothetical outside square.

2| ball

==> The ball will be thrown back from the "ball" square even if it went out diagonally in 1 or 3. If it came in a perpendicular way (2) then it is the same thing.
Right or wrong ?
Point 3 ==> The LRB says you count from the drawn ball on the throw in template
Let's make a schematic :
...A B C D E F G H I J K L

5|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
6|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
7|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
8|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
The ball went out in A4, the 2d6 did a result of 3 in the perpendicular direction (3-4 for the direction)
1) The ball goes in C4 ==> you count 3 squares this way : A4 + B4 + C4
2) The ball goes in D4 ==> you count 3 squares this way : B4 + C4 + D4
Which one is the right one ?
Last question...
If the ball goes out diagonaly in one of the angle of the pitch ? (the pitch has obviously 4 angles)
Let's make a schematic :

How do you determine the throw in ?
1 You determine randomly which side the ball went out ? (1-3 right, 4-6 down for example ?) Then resolve the throw in...
2 You can simplify and throw in directly in the 3 directions ? (1-2 right, 3-4 diagonaly, 5-6 down)
Which one would you use ?
Thanks for the answers !
