He think the allies possibility are too big for human teams. In addition, it lacks the racism who is used in 2nd ed.

The racism that you speak off leads to very broken teams.

Allowing one Dark Elf Thrower onto a Chaos team has a massive impact ... allow them one Gutter Runner also ... and the entire playing style of the team is changed ... in many people's opinion for the worst.

The rule set I presented is the best one I've found. Future CJs will address allies in BB2k1. If you wanted to trim back the Human team .... that's cool ... however I really would not go adding races to the table ... one Dark Elf or Skaven ally on the wrong team is the recipe for disaster that made most league complete hate ally rules.

the only mixed team we accept for the moment is Skaven/goblin due to underworld Creepers Background.
Fun team to play and not powerfull. Balanced.

Trambi ... in one of my other posts I put the rules we use for the Ogre team in my BB2k1 league ... if your commish is willing use them. I have an Ogre team in my BB2k1 league starting a few weeks.

Ok I have to convince LS to play 2k1BB.
Perhaps it would be harder than convert my ogre team.

My view is to add a new "allies" team. So normal teams can not use allies. The Allies team would then be subject to special rules, like annimosity and hatred, and certain races could not be teamed with other races. I think the rules for "tavern BB" would form a good basis for an Allied team where the majority of the team is made up of linemen with only a couple of positional players allowed on the team. Also there would be reroll penalties as a result of the team being almost totaly unable to get together to practice at the same times (the Dwarves are out digging mines while the Elves are polishing their boots).
Basically I think an Allies team should be average to difficult to play with but rich in character and very unpredictable.
