Nothing wrong with it in a league game, I often field 3 players with my elves if i am a few TD's up against a bashy team.

I am probably going too get slated for this, but I don't care

Sounds like an Elf answer to the Dwarf tatctic to run-the-clock. Still, don't like both ways of playing...

I have seen folks do the I will only field those playersw who have nothing to lose. So here is what I do to those folks who only a few of thier players from thier team roster while the rest cower in the dugout. I secure the ball, first. the move the ball towards the opponents end zone at a gradual and steady pace. Mean while I surround those sacrifical lambs with as many members on the field as possible and let the block/fouling begin.

Elves are especially fond of protecting thier little gains of SPPs by not fielding players who have a roll coming to them at the end of the game. They do it when they have say a 1 or 2 TD lead. They will still probably will the game this way, there is probably nothing a strength team can do about it other than make the rest of the team pay for Selfish players attitidue for letting the Linemen hang out to dry!
Remember foul and foul often!

Depending on the circumstances in the game, I'll do it even when playing a bashing team.

Ideal tactic for undead. Stick 3 zombies/skeles on the line and let the other side get on with it.

And dwarfanatic, be careful with the fouling. Bet you'd be gutted it a TO stopped you from scoring?

nice picture darkson...

This is one of the things we houseruled in BUBBLE. If you don't want your players to get hit, put them in the backfield. I think it is a bad ruling to allow a coach not to field as many players as nessecary

IMO it is simply a case of playing too your strengths and team development.

If an elven team are two or three up, for team development purposes, WHY risk your best players, when you can easily stick on a little cannon fodder.

It is exactly the same as a dwarf coach running the clock down too cause a few casualties and get an easy 2-1 score.

Agreed (and I'm not a big elf player).

If someone did that against me, fouling his players would not be enough. I'd probably kick him right in the face for bad sportsmanship.

And before you say "give the elves a chance", know that i'm currently playing wood elves.

as many as possible should be fielded. Why? because thats the only way you'll EVER get a chance at killing off OTSers.

It was a ill-thought out ruling at best.

I agree entirely with that. If you never have to field your 1 turn wonder on D then they are even harder to get rid of. The same applies to other "star" players. ECBBL house ruled this "clarification" away. Along with the foul appearance working while prone joke.

Whatever happened to 11 being the sacred number of Nuffle anyway?
