I'll be honest, I have very limited experience with LRB5. I have however played the Bubble tourney under these rules, and found that on average tere was less fouling. It might be worth while though to experiment with a team built for fouling alone.
One might consider have a no-bulls cd team, with LOADS of hobgobs and foul every turn.
Perhaps we will see such teams more often once people really get used to the rules.

My Bulls have the "Thin Skull" trait. After every block they make, roll a D6. On a 1+ they get ko-ed and stay in the ko-box for the rest of the game.

our lrb 5 league has only been going a couple of weeks, but i can say that we don't have much fouling going on, and nobody has even taken dirty player yet. given the gruop of friends i play with, i find that totally shocking.
there are some sneaky gits, including my dark elves, who took one for flavor, and to test the rules more than anything, but i didn't use him in the one game i played since he got the skill. opportunity never presented itself in what turned out to be a very close game, he always had something just a little more important to do.
granted, it's a limited test pool, but to me, the fact that people are taking sneaky git ahead of dirty player tells me that they fear getting caught more than they anticipate actual success with fouling.
to back that statement up, the coaches in the league have told me that the main thing they consider when they are about to foul is the value of their player vs the value of the potential foulee, and they said if it's not substantially in their favor (aka 40k hobgoblin fouling a 100k blitzer), they are a lot less likely to do the foul.

I am glad you dont get SPPs for fouling, otherwise I think fouling would be a lot more common. I was playing my lizards against a wood elf team, and I fouled their thrower, and he took a -1 ST loss, but the 2 times before that (not same game) I rolled doubles and was ejected.......
Then, he had his wardancer on the sideline in a TZ of the skink with the ball, and the only way to get him off the ball was to crowd-throw him, could have blitzed him with 1 GFI not to, but if I didnt knock him down, I would have had to dodge with the skink. So I crowd-threw him and ended up killing him......not a happy camper

People who get too attached to their players need to pick a different game to play. Especially if they're playing woodies...kano wrote:I am glad you dont get SPPs for fouling, otherwise I think fouling would be a lot more common. Yeah I suppose you kind of ask for it when you put that good of a player on the sideline and all you need is a push to get him off the field........I think what he was more mad about was that I had a skink with 2 assists block one of his linemen and punch through the line, the skink killed his linemen, used his apothecary on the lineman, then on his move he tried to pick up the ball (2+), failed twice, my skink made 1 GFI and picked up the ball on a 4+ in the EZ for a TD......Then on the next kick off, i stat lossed his thrower, and then in the 2nd half is when I killed the wardancer. I think that was the last straw in a miserable game for him. i have been on that end of those games, especially when I started my chaos team in lrb4 with Tr100 and everyone else was 160+. Everytime I would get enough money to upgrade a player, one would get killed..... Thats BB for you.......

Yep, almost as much as the ones that lie on the floor in front of your (LRB 4) DP when you Get the ref.Cramy wrote:I like playing against WarDancers that stand on the sideline.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Well i don't like either of the above 2 options. If he's on the sideline, i'll roll a skull, and if he's on the floor, i'll fail to break armour, and get ejected from the game.

When it was in draft many months ago, I asked about lots of rules and fouling was one one them. I was a fairly prolific fouler truth be told and most league teams had one if not two dirty players. Ian Williams (Doubleskulls) told me he was interested in my questions as he had done most of the redesigning of that part. And there is argueably no better man to do so.....Vomit Lickspittle wrote:GalakStarscraper wrote:Who made the decision on current fouling rules; what were the playtesting reasons for supporting (and/or the non-supporting reasons); and how did we get to this point (in your opinion); and, finally, what do you think would support a more reasonable fouling option?
If you don't mind my asking....
I am happy with the new fouling. It is considerably less effective which I think will bring in the AG teams more.... I mean War Dancer on the floor was tantamount to being in the KO bin if not DEAD in LRB4 with a DP and couple of assists. Not so now though....that dumbing down means Mr WD stays on the pitch a lot more and roll Double one, two or three your off!

I got fouled by Obeliz 4 times during the GT 2004 (I think, maybe 2005, it was those hippy orcs.)
He was spotted 4 times
He argued the call 4 times (SUCCESSFULLY!!!!

Im remembering the GT final with you double skulls as first action of turn 5 and 6 of the first half. It was a tasty Norse blitzer on the sidelinehoomin_erra wrote:Well i don't like either of the above 2 options.
