Just to add a note regarding points for fouling casualties, I think Galak is bang-on. You should never ever (add another eleventy billion evers for emphasis) give points for fouling casualties. While there is a chance to be kicked out of the game, my Dirty Player guys with 30+ casualties in an 8 game season from the 3rd edition days will attest to the power that you gain from gaining casualty points via fouling, and even at 1 point per casualty, it would be extremely unbalanced and probably take away from the game way too much.

we did, too, but even without allocating more than three MVP to the same player (nobody did, in the end) the number of overpowered players that result was way too high.Daefaroth wrote:I've used the pick MVP rule with the requirement than no more than 1 in 4 MVPs goes to the same player. It helps keep things from getting out of hand too quickly.
This is because the MVP went to players that required a "push" without deserving it (having done nothing or nearly nothing) and instead acquiring easily a skill (i.e. Block to a Werewolf or Break tackle to a Bullcentaur) that normally require three injuries or at least a nice bunch of luck to be got.
After that, the progression for the player turned easier, and a further MVP gifted him a second skill that made him nearly a "one man team". From that moment on it was all a downslope.
A good tweak to the "chosen MVP" houserule is that you cannot give two consecutive MVP to the same player, but you have to wait at least two or more games before you can award it to that player again.
In this way the team may remain a little more balanced, even if I still think that the houserule is a little bit broken to work well.

Sorry I wasn't clear, but what I meant by '1 in 4' is that if you give a player an mvp, the next 3 must go to other players before he is eligible again. Meaning only eligible for 1 out of every 4 mvp awards givenalternat wrote:we did, too, but even without allocating more than three MVP to the same player (nobody did, in the end) the number of overpowered players that result was way too high.Daefaroth wrote:I've used the pick MVP rule with the requirement than no more than 1 in 4 MVPs goes to the same player.
