Where does it say that fanatics ignore foul appearance? This has come into question in games between me and a coach playing nurgle. Since it says that B&C follows the normal rules of blocking he means that FA applies, and I haven't had any arguments that says that it shouldn't apply except that it just feels wrong.khudzlin wrote:fanatics already ignore foul appearance, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to have them ignore fend as well -- we're talking about insane gobbos drugged to the gills and lugging balls and chains, after all

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Re: Ball and Chain question
So... almost a year later, it's come up in my league... and no definitive position on Ball and Chain vs Fend?!

Re: Ball and Chain question
My opinion would be that Fend prevents a Ball & Chain from following up just like it does with Frenzy which is another must follow-up skill.
The Ball&Chain doesn't follow up and then just continues moving from its own square. Ball & Chain doesn't override Side Step or Stand Firm ... so there is no reason to believe it overrides another defensive skill like Fend.
Galak

I have also always seen them as more of a juggernaut, but the rules are pretty clear on this. And since you're not blitzing taking Juggernaut is pretty useless too.khudzlin wrote:fanatics already ignore foul appearance, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to have them ignore fend as well -- we're talking about insane gobbos drugged to the gills and lugging balls and chains, after all

Which is kinda lame. If more rules updates were possible, I'd lobby to make Juggernaut a viable skill for B&C players.Duke Jan wrote:I have also always seen them as more of a juggernaut, but the rules are pretty clear on this. And since you're not blitzing taking Juggernaut is pretty useless too.

Re: Re:
I think he was suggesting that since the B&C allows Grab to work that we should have said Grab and Juggernaut. My concern with allowing Juggernaut to work is that it gives B&C basically a Block like skill on a normal roll which was felt to be too good.daloonieshaman wrote:but they don't blitz, are you suggesting changing the rules to Jug also?

Tom - I agree with you, and find your reasoning sound.GalakStarscraper wrote:My opinion would be that Fend prevents a Ball & Chain from following up just like it does with Frenzy which is another must follow-up skill.

I know. What never crossed my mind before is whether you can declare a blitz with a B&C player. I don't think you can, or not?daloonieshaman wrote:but they don't blitz
