Re: Fanatics and Apothecaries
The B&C stays on the pitch Stunned.
Sequence:
1) Prone/Knocked down
2) no armor roll
3) injury = KO or D/I
4) Apoth
a) D/I can turn into reserves
b) KO turns into stunned ON THE PITCH

Re: Fanatics and Apothecaries
The intent of the Apothecary was that it was still an immediate effect only (ie you cannot wait for later).

No because as soon as the Apothecary converted the injury to Stunned ... the Ball & Chain effect would convert it again to KO'd.Grumbledook wrote:does the fanatic stay on the pitch or not though ;]

I must agree to disagree
The wording of Both Apoth and Ball and Chain are quite clear to me.
Stunned results for any Injury rolls for the Ball & Chain player are always
treated as KO’d (no argument there)
The apoth save is not an injury roll (happens after the injury roll Both KOed and Cas)
"If the player was KO'd leave him on the pitch Stunned"
When one writes rules they cannot see every effect of combinations. I understand that. Unfortunately what may have been intended and what a combination creates are 2 separate things. When 7 comes out maybe it will be changed maybe not.

Too bad there will never be a 7. (and I've offered to wage good sums of money on this with folks and never had any takers).daloonieshaman wrote:When 7 comes out maybe it will be changed maybe not.
Wow ... way more polite than you normally are to me in the past ... thank you.daloonieshaman wrote:When one writes rules they cannot see every effect of combinations. I understand that.
Anyway ... went back and carefully read the exact wording (which will teach me to give an answer like I did above without reading the rules). I agree with DShaman on this one. With the wording of the rulebook ... I would agree that yes ... if you Apothecary a KO'd Fanatic that he stays on the pitch Stunned.

One to add to the Houserules list then.

Re: Fanatics and Apothecaries
I think there may be another edition of the rules at some point, doubt it will be called LRB7 though which is a sticking point to the bet.
Also I don't think it will be in the short term and tying money up for that long isn't practical for me.

Re: Fanatics and Apothecaries
I would agree. This is the type of thing that would go on the BBRC list of minor wording fixes normally that need done if they were still around.Darkson wrote:One to add to the Houserules list then.
In this case the Apothecary currently reads:
"If the player was KO’d leave him on the pitch Stunned, or, if he was not on the pitch, put him in the Reserves box."
It should read
"Immediately after the player suffers a KO'd result you may convert it to Stunned instead."
Not a big deal as far as wording changes but it solves two issues with the current wording:
1) Now it is clear that you are supposed to use the ability immediately after the KO'd roll (and not later say after the KO'd recovery rolls at the end of a drive.)
2) The Fanatic's Ball & Chain rules would then turn the Apothecary's Stunned change back to KO'd and he'd leave the pitch.
Galak
P.S. Whoever posted that free utility that allowed me to convert the CRP from protected to a copy and pasteable document ... THANK YOU ... makes answering rules questions SO much more easier for me.

Re: Fanatics and Apothecaries
Indeed putting convert in there still leaves it ambiguous despite the wording of ball and chain
be better off adding to the ball and chain rule saying that all stunned rolls even after Apothecary use are treated as KO
though I would personally prefer that you can put them in the reserves box after using apoth, though obv you still need to use a bribe to keep them from being sent off same as if they are in the KO box
