I of course appreciate the courtesy of a reminder, but I don't get annoyed if it doesn't happen. (If it doesn't, I might be less inclined to issue my own reminders...

Re: Foul Appearance - if my opponent forgets the roll then rolls a pow result then I use the skill. If he rolls a skull, I declare I'm not using foul appearance. Same with Diving Tackle, same with Foul Appearance. Knowing the dice roll changes things dramatically and to my oppinion there is no way back from there. However, Foul Appearance is a little more tricky than the other two even then. What do you do with this nasty little skill if your opponent rolled pows without checking for FA before? What if he rolled a turnover?
Isn't it your job to remember to use the skill before the dice are rolled? It's your skill after all, isn't it, how can your opponennt know if you intend to use it?fanglord13 wrote:Re: Foul Appearance - if my opponent forgets the roll then rolls a pow result then I use the skill. Always courteous enough to point out if asked and show team roster, but repeated failures get old
Well, that is easily answered with a quote from page 14 of the CRP rulebook:adhansa wrote:Isn't it your job to remember to use the skill before the dice are rolled? It's your skill after all, isn't it, how can your opponennt know if you intend to use it?
So, no, it's not my job to explain how my team works all the time. Many players have skills such as Catch, Pass etc. Unless stated otherwise in the skill description you never have to use a skill just because the player’s got it, and you can choose to use a skill that affects a dice roll after rolling the dice. For example, you could say you were going to use the Catch skill either before or after making a catch D6 roll.
So, you can't deceide to not use FA, you have to! That is the "unless stated otherwise in the skill description" part of my first quote from the rulebook. Rolling for the block without rolling for FA first would be against the rules, but I wpould let it pass as "in the heat of the moment" error.Foul Appearance (Mutation)
The player’s appearance is so horrible that any opposing player that wants to block the player (or use a special attack that takes the place of a block) must first roll a D6 and score 2 or more. If the opposing player rolls a 1 he is too revolted to make the block and it is wasted (though the opposing team does not suffer a turnover).
