Origin of a rule...

Don't understand a particular rule or just need to clarify something? This is the forum for you. With 2 of the BBRC members and the main LRB5/6 writer present at TFF, you're bound to get as good an answer as possible.

Weird... I don't think anyone in my league noticed that that rule had changed from Deathzone.

we've always played it that you only measure distance when you've stoped moving and are about to pass, but you don't have to declare the target of the throw untill you've measured...

And it's not like we are unsporting (as implied) because noone picks up the ruler untill they are ready to throw, becuase that's the rules as we know it...

What it comes down to usully is the coach making a guess on whether a go for it or 2 would be worth the risk to possibly lower the dificulty of the throw. Some times it's worth the risk, sometimes it's not...

We didn't think it weird, just part of the fun of the game...

a proper thrower can assess the distance they can throw all the time, sure sometimes they can still fail the throw
