Experiences with kicking rules

Well some people in our league want:

TD 5 pts
FG 3 pts
Conversion ( a free field goal attempt from the centre of the half after you score a TD, from the widezones if you scored there...) 2 points

Ahem..

We're leaving it as it is, for the moment. (obviously because we're mid season!!!)

Well in our league my dark elf kicker scores a 1 turn fg half the time. He does have leap and strong leg though. Asides from him getting me a fgor two each game, the other players kickers have only gotten 2 fgs total. But they don't go for the fg almost all the time like me. I think that the experimental rules are really very good. You need to role doubles to get the strong leg so it doesnt happen to everybody. Also when I screw up the fg bad things happen. Kicker all alone etc. The rules make for tense games as on your last turn just run down there and kick it! A few games have been tied up this way fun

Take it from me, a former kicking rules skeptic, the 1-1 rule is solid.
I didn't even like the kicking rules when we tested them, I was about as anti-kick as you could get and still test them fairly.

You won't get enough FG's for the 1-2 or 1-3 ratios to mean anything but more complicated scoring of matches.
Even with AG 5 players. I don't know about your league but I have never seen an old AG 5 player. They don't stick around long enough to abuse the kicking rules. And besides, Ag 4 and Ag 5 aren't too different he's not gonna be some bad assed kicker, believe me.

My only gripe about the kickers was the lack of diversity in the kicker position. I think they should be more race specific. For example the dwarf kicker should be a longbeard with strong leg instead of a runner with kick.
Just something to think about.
