Oh don't worry Zombie, we pretty much totally disregard fluff. Only two or three of our coaches actually know right from left in Warhammer (and I am NOT one of them :D ) As far as teams being forced to have allies to compete, that is a definite possiblity. We have battled back and forth on this issue and it is still not decided. Too many of our coaches like an ally system, so we ended up on that side of the coin. But we are still tweaking. I have thought about running a pure CD or Undead team to see if it is possible to be competative in our league.

Skummy,
You have some definite points there. Orcs shouldn't need any more bump ups I know. The Lizard team is one that I almost don't want to allow allies. They are pretty good by themselves, and with a couple humans (QB specifically) they can become nutty. Our last tournament was won by a Lizardman coach, but it was by no means a blow out match.

As far as the other teams go, we have yet to have a really effective coach take on those teams and shake up the system. So as soon as it happens, we will tweak accordingly. Thanks for the opinion, I will be watching.

Overall, I like them a whole lot. My concerns are based on three pretty simple things. Bull Centaurs become an instant scoring threat on an Orc team. Wardancers might just be the best players in the game, and they make both Amazons and HE's instantly better. Getting humans on the Lizardman team is huge, because it eliminates their biggest problem - a lack of thowers.

so use the rule from the 3rd ed ally stuff made by jj...the original team has to be able to take 4 of a player before they can be taken as an ally by somebody else. takes care of all your problems. no wardancers playing on hi elf teams, no bull centaurs on orcs, no lizards with human throwers, etc etc because those are all 0-2 positions.

It's even worse than that! You get access to general skills! Kick is a nice addition to the lizzies, and I wouldn't want to miss it anymore. The thrower comes with sure hands already so he can pick up the ball without wasting a rr. Throwing is only an additional possibility for your offense but even with a handoff to a skink you are still well off for the first games with regard to ball handling... :o

If you need a mobile tackler in your backflied you can use your humans, too. You don't have to get a saurus with break tackle/tackle first!

Too much upside, if you ask me! I wouldn't allow the humans on the lizzie teams!

I won some impressive titles in 198X, some more in 199X, even more impressive titles in 200X, some of them REALLY impressive, and a few even MORE impressive! Not to mention a lot of less impressive ones.
