Do a search for Dwarf Ogre with both words present and you'll find the threads. There are just too many Ogres in BB, and Bonehead is not a serious enough nega-trait, so having an Ogre becomes an arms race. Ogres also add two many scoring options to Orc teams. Bash, Pass, and TTM.HotsalZa wrote:Great List there!![]()
But why should be the Ogre removed from certain teams?
I dont think Orks or Dwarfes are overpowered because of Ogres.
If there was already a discussion about it please give me the link to that theme.
I'll go on record here that I'm 99.999999999% confident that none of those rules will make it into officialdom OTHER than possibly the Piling On change. The BBRC doesn't work that way. New rules become experimental before becoming official. None of the stuff in the BBB league is official experimental ... thus has virtually zero chance to become official. The Piling On change is the one exception ... this could be seen as a rule fix/tweak which may go outside the experimental to official new rule chain.I have just seen the the tripple B league rules on the BB site,
how certain is it that any of this rule changes are going to make it to the next LRB ?

Hey guys ... just like I did last year. The 2003 Hot List becomes fixed in stone on August 31st so that the BBRC can have time to look it over in final form before the October review.
Anything not on there or anything else brilliant that comes up in September will need to wait until 2004 to get on the list.
So you got a few more days to check things out before the Hot List enters "picture lock" as they say in Hollywood.

Also guys remember the Hot List is just one resource that the BBRC has ... its not their agenda for the meeting. Its simply a collection point of the best and most hotly debated questions/suggestions over the last year. Also keep in mind that if the official rule doesn't do something on the Hot List... its doesn't mean it was ignore ... it might just take time to get an experimental rule in place for that item ... (the Dwarven Runesmith comes to mind as something that was complained about not being address in the 2002 review and then was released by the BBRC later in BB Mag). Its a process. I email 5 of the BBRC members fairly regularly. They all know the Hot List is there and they know what it represents. Just think of this as a public service announcement in advance.

Is this missing? I thought it was in an earlier version?
Shadowing - can you shadow people leaving your TZ for any reason (e.g. pass blocks, push backs, follow ups)
Also can the BBRC rulings be incorporated into the LRB as an appendix or commentary on the rules? Obviously changing the main body of the text is not appropriate for all their rulings. This was quite successful with WFB.

The BBRC rulings always shows up in the Annual ... but I think either Chet or Neo agreed at one point that it would be good to tact it on as a FAQ section. Example ... Chet really hates the fact that the HMP skills that it cannot be used in Blizzard. In his opinion this is something for an FAQ page not for an actual skill description. So I'll mention it on the Hot List.

The annual does not but the LRB does ... a toss up one really. So far in my discussion with the BBRC they look at the LRB for all clarifications so this one doesn't make the list as its really a list of LRB questions not Annual questions.Grumbledook wrote:does the annual mention that the stand up roll for players with less than 3 move is just a 4+ and no one can help them any more
JJ has already gone on record saying the LRB is more official than the Handbook+Annual.

I agree with Galak. I had to quit playing my team lately as I rolled a 1 five times in eight matches (even in matches where I had a +3 to the roll). And I just don't think it's fair to lose your team just because you rolled some ones where you shouldn't. I would propose the following:GalakStarscraper wrote:Guess I'm tried of winning and have 3 TDs and 2 Cas and losing a point of FF, and since I see the game files and comments from coaches from two different leagues. I've seen a lot of negative comments from my coaches, coaches in other leagues, and coaches on TBB against this rule. I'll remove the personal comments and just ask if it really needs to be there. To me it takes away a lot more than it adds and I was pretty sure that this was one of those that was a clear majority on one side of the fence. I'll run a TBB poll on it and see if I've missed the bus trying to read between the lines.2. "Okay everyone and even their neighbors who don't play Blood Bowl appear to hate the 1/6 rule for Fan Factor rolls ... can we lose it?"
Huh? When was that discussed? I know i don't have anything against it!

The FF table would look this way:
1-2: FF -1
3-4: FF stays
5-6: FF +1
with an additional change, that the automatic 1/6 rule doesn't apply. This would probably lead to more frequent FF changes, so toned down a bit it could stay as the current table, but without the 1/6 rule. I think the logic behind it should be that if someone is playing good, he should not only increase the chances for raising FF, but also decreasing chances for its lowering (and vice versa if playing badly). The current version doesn't seem to create this effect very accurately.

i like the 1/6 ff rule, it gives teams and bad coaches a chance to roll a 6 every so often when they would normally be getting their ff dropping all the time
that boost is of more benefit to the game then it is the more experienced coaches rolling a 1, not all teams are meant to find it easy to keep the fans happy

aye, i can attest to that. i just finished a game in my table top league w/ my high elves (didnt get enough practice w/ cds to justify buying the team and painting them in the 4 days i had before the league started). weather roll 1,1 sweltering heat. i receive, get the ball downfield and stall a few turns to keep the orcs from scoring after i kick the ball back. rolled 6 1s on the exhaustion roll. then pitch invasion takes out 3 more guys. he throws a pass to his blitzer and runs him down the pitch. i take the 2 guys i have left and put tzs on the blitzer w/ the ball, i needed 1 more ma to throw the blitz so i couldnt hit him. he dodges away and scores. second half he throws again, perfect pass, blitzer drops it. i get the ball free after a couple turns and go stall some more to prevent ANY chance at him tieing the game. so i roll winnings, its a 2. gate was low so i barely got the 50k for apoth. then i roll a +3 ff (win, 2+tds, 2+cas) and roll a 1. the guy says it doesnt matter because i have a 4 after modification. but im honest and tell him the 1/6 rule applies here too and take the -ff. fluffwise we assumed my fans had left me because the only reason people watch elf games is to see them die, and none of mine did.
