Chet even said he liked the team once
Heck, I'll say it again: I really like this team. Kudos for not making them AG4, too!
But yeah, with Slann as presently constructed in WH, I don't see these guys making it in any time soon.

Slann background
Hi all,
as Chet and Tom said, The Old Slann probably won't ever make it into BB.
Never the less, for those interested I concocted a background story for them a long time ago. I even explained it to Jervis in person at a gaming event, and he said it was "nice" - but I guess thats what he has to say when cornered by a ranting gamer
Anyway - bringing back a race no longer aknowledged, (in that form anyway), required some *ahem* rewriting of history. But surely, no race could simply have vanished from the face of the world. The way I see it, the revision of the warhammer world has merely focused on the remaining slann mage lords, but the tribal slann are still around, and they are still playing Blood Bowl. My job was not to falsify history - but rather to bring forgotten details to light
:
"In the dawn of time, the old ones and their slann servants arrived in ther silver starships, crossing the vast ocean of space. For reasons we cannot begin to understand, they had chosen this wasteland for an experiment of the greatest magnitude and importance, and began to populate the world with their myriads of specimen. Using the awesome powers at their disposal, the old ones and the slann transformed the cold and barren planet, shifting its orbit and bringing life where there had been none.
Back then, the slann were magnificent humanoid amphibian creatures, strong of body, yet possessing minds finely attuned to the alien dimension 'the warp', harnessing its energies with unimaginable ease. Alongside the lizardmen, first of the old ones new progeny, the slann acted as keepers of the world, and defenders of "the worlds cradle" - Lustria's sacred ground. With time, the Slann and the Lizardmen established a mighty empire in the heart of Lustria, and all the while, they watched the other 'children' of the old ones grow stronger.
Slann and lizardmen alike revered the old ones as gods, and any time not spent attending to the multitudes of tasks that constitutes the old ones great plan, was spent in worship of them. One of the most popular ceremonies of tribute, was the ritual game of xa'slee, which the old ones themselves taught the lizardmen and the slann. Xa'slee, a celebration of the old ones and their great plan, was played in the great pyramid temples, and most prominent of these was the one called xâNF'Lotl.
What exactly happened next is unclear, but the warp gates on the worlds poles collapsed, and chaos came. A torrent of warp energy gushed from the gateways, unleashing a dark power that threatened to destroy everything that the old ones had laboured to create. The extremely warp sensitive slann, were overwhelmed by the flux of warp energy spilling into the world - their bodies sucking up the warp energy like sponges. Most were killed in the process, their minds and bodies overloaded with power - but some survived, though bloated with sheer pent-up power to the point of immobility.
However, not all slann were susceptible to the influence of the warp energies. the slann totem warriors, who mimicked the ways of their masters simpler creations, had long ago lost their connection with the warp, and had been changed by the centuries spent on the warhammer world. These slann remained unchanged, and in the upheaval that followed the great catastrophe, these slann did not rally around the remaining Slann lords, like the lizardmen did, but left the pyramid cities to follow a different path.
But they still play xa'slee!
Since the great catastrophe, the younger races have come to Lustria, and have started uncovering its secrets - including pyramid temples and holy scriptures. With the translation of these scriptures, xa'slee has spread all over the globe, and has become known under the name of Blood Bowl."
PS - piling on after the roll? Ba-Roken!
