Fouling SPP's

Post by erod4 »

If a dirty player inflicts a casualty doing a foul action, are the 2 spp's awarded to him?

No.

SPPs are not gained for foul actions.

deacon's right. fouling never gives SPP's. makes giving a player DP a little more of a strategic move. he won't get extra SPPs, he will be a target, and his sole purpose will be getting opponent players off the field while trying not to get thrown out.

Such a shame that the great and the good weren't able to balance fouling for their LRB and had to weaken it. If only the Refs On The Pitch was a standard, it solves so many fouling problems without resorting to the drastic and game-altering changes like no SPPs for fouling.

Then what's the point of DP in the first place? If one can't get SPP from fouling then there's no reason to foul other than personal preference.

But then again, that's something that my league house-rules in. For my league, fouling does reward the fouler with SPP, but neither side can use assists. Gives a reason to keep Dirty Player in the skills list. :)

a, a DP is essential for getting rid of players that you want off the pitch (pests like Wardancers, Gutter Runners, Big Guys, etc.), but can't break the armour. In Chaos Dwarf terms: the Hobgoblin finishes the job the Chaos Dwarf has not completed.

b, making sure that the receiver who fell down in the endzone on a gfi, droped the ball next to him does NOT stand up next turn.

c, the look in the eyes of your opponent when your 30k, 6 SPP Zombie Dirty Player closes in on his 100+ SPP ST4 AG5 Wardancer that dropped on snakeeyes last turn ...

A little bit off topic, what really bugs me about fouling casualties not giving SPP's any longer is the following:

It's too hard to level up linemen that come in as an replacement into an advanced team! Back in the days all you needed was a sucessful foul and a MVP; Now everybody throws quick passes with linemen on dead turns which is way more beardy than a good kick in the balls of an Elf in my oppinion.

I award SPPs to fouls, I have DP but I only allow it on either (choice pre-dice, none of this wait and see nonsense). On the other hand, I have Refs On The Pitch so foulers have to be cleverer and more specific.

In agreement with Force, I had an opponent throw 4 completions from 6 attempts for -1 total yards last season just so he could get SPPs.

Care to explain how that works?

How about rewarding 1spp for fouls on some teams only and those teams don't get spp's for completions.

Completion SPP's for:

Elves x3 (not Dark Elf)
Human
Amazon
Halflings
Dwarves
Lizarmen

Fouling SPP's for:

Dark Elves
Goblins
Orcs
Norse
Chaos
Skaven
Chaos Dwarves
Undead

Just a thought.

sure, but put the halflings in the fouling section.

Then i can return to my halfling hit squad formation...
About half the team in black suits and sun glasses.

Pass me another Elf, Captain. This one's split.
