It has been asked before, but never mind that!
A hand off is NOT a pass action, only a catch roll is made. No completion.
A completion is given when a pass leaves the thrower and is caught by a player from the moving (same) team. Note that a fumbled throw, caught by a player next to you is NEVER a completion and ALWays a turnover!

And that doesn't happen very often!

Not sure about completely right, doesn't the throw also have to be an accurate pass to be a completion? In inaccurate pass that ends up in your teams hands is not a turnover but is still incomplete isn't it?

AFAIK it does not have to be accurate. The pass just has to end up in the hands of a teamate. No fumbles though..

Spps are only given for accurate passes that are completed. Note that a failed catch can bounce around and the spp is given as long as the initial pass was accurate and it ends up in the hands of a teammate before it comes to rest.
An inaccurate pass is never awarded a spp even if the intended recipient catches it.
