About stripball

Hey guys, I was wondering if pusing back someone after a block because of his dodge skill was considered as a push back result elligible for a stripball ?

I think it's obvious it doesn't apply on block result, but that case is somehow a little more ambiguious (although I think it IS elligible for a stripball).

I think so. Definitely so in PBBL.

Pretty clear from that imo

You are correct in thinking that the skull/POW result will not allow you to use your Strip Ball skill.

The answers above are correct. It is even clearer in PBBL :

Some skills refer to pushing a player back in order to work.
These skills will work as long as you roll a result of ‘Pushed’,
‘Defender Stumbles’, or ‘Defender Down’ on the Blocking dice.

This is confusing me

So I'll make a little table to see if I have it right:

Code: Select all

block result result with strip ball unless sure hands
skull attacker down (no strip ball)
skull pow both down unless block (no strip ball)
pushback strip ball unless sure hands
push back/POW defender down unless dodge, then strip ball unless sure hands
POW defender down (no need for strip ball)
Is that right?

100% correct Ziggi

Strip ball can be used if the dice come up pushback, pushback-pow or pow. Of course if the defender goes down strip ball doesn't really matter.

With the PBBL-skill "juggernaut" you can use strip ball even with the both down result (if it was a blitz, but to be honest: how often do you blitz the ball carrier and how often can you really block him?)

Even that is true ? I mean ... there is no push back action :-?

You misread his table. The first row is the table headers. So "block result" does not mean "both down" but is just the header to indicate that this column contains the block results

Yeah, pretty stupid mistake since the both down result is indicated in the third row.

Well, thanks anyway.
