Do you get a completion when a member of your team catches your hail mary pass?

Can any one tell me the odds that a player with diving catch gets the oppurtunity to catch the hail mary pass?

Thank you

No Completion, because a Hail Mary is always Inaccurate, and a pass has to be Accurate for a completion.

As for the chance, no idea, but someone (Doubleskulls?) worked it out once and posted it here or on the SG forum.

The chance is roughly 50%, then add the possibility of a succesful catch (without the normal +1 for an accurate pass)

Are you sure there's a 50% chance the ball will end up in an adjacent square after the scatter?

A completed pass is never a turnover, even a Hail Mary one. :D The odds of the Hail Mary being caught are slim but if it is you carry on as normal.

Just remember, only a failed pass is a turnover. That means after the scatter and all the bounces and juggling, if the ball comes to rest on the ground or in the hands of your opponent. If the ball is caught by a member of your team, no matter how many times you have to roll that d8, it's not a turnover.

. . . and the ball can even scatter out of bounds, get thrown in, bounce, and be caught by a member of your team, without a turnover occurring, yes?

I just redid the math and it came to 49,6% if the thrower has pass and including the possibility of the ball landing 2 squares away and bounces back to the catcher (45,6% for a direct hit).

Out of the 512 total combination of 3 times scatter 240 will end in a square next to target or right on target which makes the 45,6%.

Yes, and if the throw was also accurate, the thrower'd get SPPs for it too. :)
