You've probably seen the 3 or 4 threads on the GW BB forum so I'd thought I'd ask the question here to see what the talkBB forum thinks.
Just before the start of the clubs last BB tournament I sent a snail mail to Fanatic asking which star players, if any, Norse and Amazon teams had access to. Someone at Fanatic replied (I can't remember who, and I can't find the letter) that at present Norse and Amazons could take any Star Player which would play for Human teams, and said something about this being looked at in a future rules review (though he didn't say when).
I know that in the 4th ed. both these teams had their own Star Players (Lucky Luc and Wilheim Chaney?) but what about in the current version?
What do members of the forum think?
Norse and Amazon star players.

Norse and Amazon star players.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I don't think that they should be allowed to take human stars but since they don't have their own what ya gonna do? As long as they don't bring back that stupid ass unicorn I'll be happy. If they want people to buy minis then give the Amazons a female centaur star or give the Norse (who are apparently chaos thugs now) a mutant fish monster.

Star player list in LRB is not comprehensive
I'm not a fan of the star player list in the LRB as it stands right now. So I went looking and found a copy of Oberwald Supplement No. 2 somewhere on line. We're thinking of augmenting a few of the teams (like Dark & High elves) with some new star players to pick from. Not sure if we'll use these exact ones but every team will eventually have star players.
Last season saw the Wood Elf team walking through the playoffs being led by Jordell Freshbreeze & the treeman star player. The coach was able to freeboot at least one every game.
I'd like to offer the same possibility to other coaches to have some better help on the field. This season has been a little hard on our two elf teams and I think some of it has to be with seeing how effective 4 AG can be.
While Star players aren't on the list for review this October, I feel the list needs to be fleshed out and give every team a few possibilities. Not everybody plays the same style of game.

Star players are really there to add flavour to a game IMO. It's not a good idea to have them permanently coz they can really unbalance a team, so I go along with the freebooting idea. But what's the point of only being able to freeboot the same character every game? Give every team a variety of player choice, so theres a bit of variety in game play. I personally like a bit of variety and even randomness for fun, which is why I often play Fungus, despite the fact he invariably goes down in the middle of the first half.
Plus they tend to have the coolest minis...

If dice have a probability bell curve, why am I on the part of the bell that keeps getting hit by the clapper?
