Converting Old Teams to LRB 5.0

I tried making a search for this topic, but couldn't find anything readily, though I am sure it has been discussed somewhere. Are there any recommendations for converting pre 5.0 teams so they are compatible with the new rules (especially positional changes)? What are most leagues doing for this? How to grandfather them in so to speak? Thanks, and sorry if this is elsewhere!

Depends on your league.
There are two ways that I like:
1) Don't force players to change and if players die or are retired they can only purchase players that would be legal.
2) Force player to convert .. ie Dark Elf Throwers become Dark Elf Runners ... Blitzers on Norse teams become 2 Berserkers and 2 Ulfwereners. Treemen gain Strong Arm. Etc. Skills that have changed significantly or been deleted can be replaced.
===
I've done #2 in my league ... but #1 is more of an option for established leagues.

I'd probably try and do #1 because its, imo, more flavoursome. Also killing off the last remanants of the old rules is always a challenge

Thanks guys, that helps! It seems #1 would be the fairest as I would hate to tell our big Khemri player that his beloved Mummies don't have Block as it appears to now be a skill only attainable with doubles!

That's the only reason I'd go with #2. I'd love to tell the Kehmri player that!

Unfortunately, that in itself may be a reason you have to use #2. Four mummies with Block will totally unbalance your league, as Khemri are one of the best teams in PBBL anyway.

Thanks fellas. Let's see if as league commisioner I can summon the cojones to tell our Khemri player the news. He's a giant fireman, and also my wife's uncle! [gulp]

If that is the case LRB 5.0 shouldn't become official - because it ought to be able to cope with 4 players getting doubles in a team.

#1 is a much more enjoyable option. Get some other players to pool some cash, and put bounties on those Block Mummies. After a few games against teams with running chainsaws and a handful of Dirty Players, you won't have a Mummy problem anymore.
