Frenzy & Horns

Hi again all, I have a new query for you today.

If a player is prone and has the horns & frenzy skill and also has an opposing player in his tackle zone. If he stands up and blitzes the opposing player, does he get the +1 str from horns (He hasn't moved any actual squares, just stood up for three, and then hitting the player who was in his tackle zone)

This came up last night, a Minotaur (horns & frenzy & WA), was prone with opposing players in his tacklezone. He stood up and blitzed one, and argued that he should get the +1 on his strength. I pondered on this and went back to 3rd Ed where the player has to move one actual square befor blitzing to get the bonus. Was I right or wrong to say the Minotaur could not have the +1 str bonus ?

regards

Just like the skill says, you have to move a square first. You were correct.

So the three squares for standing up don't count ?

How about the second block in the Frenzy. Does that get the +1 Str ?

LRB 1.3. pp 35

Horns (Physical Trait)
A player with horns may use them to butt an opponent. This adds
+1 to the player’s Strength when he makes a block. However, the
player may only use this ability as part of a Blitz, and only if he
has moved at least one square before he makes the block
(standing up at the start of your action does not count!). If the
player has the Frenzy trait, then the horns bonus applies on the
second block if it applied on the first.

Thanks Ian - I sense subtlety isn't one of your strong points.

Don't think of the three squares gettig up as movement: think of the player having his movement reduced by three because he stood up.
