Multiple Block
Hi there,
In the living rulebook there are no rules specifying which players may assist a multiple block.
Suppose b is blocking A and B,
which of the players 1-9 may assist?
9 b 1 2
8 A B 3
7 6 5 4
Another question which isn´t all clear to me:
does Mighty Blow, Piling on, Claws ... work against both opponents or one chosen for all skills together or one chosen for each skill seperately?
Thanx a lot

An assist may be given by any player who is in contact with the opposing player and not in a tackle zone, so I'd say all of them could.
Any skills used by the attacker apply equally to both victims, though I'm not sure in the case of POn. Do a search for this stuff or look in Deathwing's FAQ and you'll find it because you're on well trodden ground here.

Well, if you use multiple block on players A&B, do A&B cancel out assists against themselves? So do you count A&B as one person, so that if someone is in both A&B's tackle zone, but nobody elses, do they lend an assist for the block, or is their assist canceled because of being in someone else's tackle zone?

Assuming that players 1-9 are on the side of the MB player, my guess is that players 2,3,4,7,8 and 9 can give offensive assists and players 1,5 and 6 can't because they're in the tacklezone of either A or B.
My opinion is also that the offensive players can only assist on one of the two blocks: player 3 can't assist on the block on player A, because he can't reach him. I'd say you have to see this as two seperate blocks with some weird strength bonuses. This also means that you can only PO or MB one player, as you can only use these skills once per turn. That's just my two cents.

The rules aren't really clear with this one, but my interpretation would be that any player could give an assist, as I would be treating both players as a single model for clarity's sake. I would also say that you could use any skill on BOTH players, but that with the likes of mb, if you use it on an armour roll for one, you HAVE to use it for the armour of the other opponent. I assume this is something that has been gone over multiple times, I guess all we can hope for is some clarification in October.

Re: Multiple Block
Multiblock is letting b hit two people at the same time. Last line of the skill states "Both sides may use assists normally". With that said:khalev wrote:Hi there,

AB offer each other a defensive assist against b.
Spots 2,3,4 would give an off. assist against B
9,8,7 would offer the same against A
1,6,5 would cancel AB's def. assist.
If you have Dauntless I would roll it once against the combined strengths
In doing the math you would need one player to cancel out their assist or be throwing a 2 die block in their favor. Do this by either being in both TZ or just get an off. assist to cancel out the def. one.

I'll support Remco on this one.khalev wrote:Hi there,

Players A and B are both involved in the block with their strength added so they do not also give each other assists.
To be able to provide an assist against a player you must be next to that player and not in anyone else's tackle zone. So to assist b, a player must be next to one and only one of the attacked players. So 1,5,6 cannot provide assists (unless they have guard).
Piling On can only be used against one of the opponents. If pushbacks occur with the knockdown, then b can only pile onto the player he followed up on.
Skills can be used only once per action unless specified otherwise (LRv1.3p34). Since the armour roll is done separately for each opponent I'd only alow Mighty Blow to be used once.

Re: Multiple Block
I don't believe that this is the case. Assists have to come from extra players (LRB 1.3 pp21) and AB are not.gallowin wrote:AB offer each other a defensive assist against b

Re: Multiple Block
Good point. Since both players are being hit neither would be an extra player. I was looking at Multi-Block as giving the offensive player an advantage and that it didn't affect the defensive aspect.ianwilliams wrote:I don't believe that this is the case. Then anyone standing in the 1,5,6 spots wouldn't do anything and your assist would have to come from the 9,8,7 or 2,3,4 slots.
