LRB5 Secret weapons

I have been reading through LRB5 more carefully (since we are starting a new league with this) and have one (actually multiple, but they are linked kinda) question about secret weapons.

1) Can players with secret weapons get skills? (didnt see it mentioned)

2) Secret weapons automatically get sent off once at the next kickoff? No more rolls to see if the ref might miss it.

2) I play Dwarves mostly, and noticed the deatheroller is quite powerful now. He is counted as a secret weapon, and can use re-rolls (I figured he would have been more like a big guy with loner) and doesnt have any negatraits that I can see.

Anyways, I may have been misreading this, but I like my dwarves even more now.

1) Yes

2) Yes

2) I assume you meant 3) The deathroller is quite powerful. It is also very expensive and as you noticed is automatically kicked out after one drive. There has been alot of debate as to whether it is worth it's price. I don't play dwarves so I can't really comment myself. Though I have to say If I say it on my opponents team I would be happy... It's not that hard to force a drive to end.

What he Said... except that I don't think it's all that easy to get a drive to end when you play as an Orc team going up against Dwarves. Happily I played our resident Dwarf team before they got their roller!!

There is a down side to Deathrollers, obviously. But in my opinion, I would only plan on them being in the game for one drive, and take out as many as possible in that time.

But the serious upside of getting more skills is hard to miss. Figure a deathroller can get two SPP casualties a game, they will fly up in SPP.

Most Dwarf coaches seem to dislike the Deathroller once they have used it. Occasionally great, but most often a waste of money.

For an early purchase I agree.
For a well developped team I'd probably take one but I'm not a Dwarf specialist. :)

Yes through blocks and MVP.

Has the rule about deathrollers that are knocker over, automatically out of the game been changed? I didnt see it in LRB5 anywhere. Does that mean the function like a regular player, stand up -3MV and continue on?

They can even Jump up and Leap now.

...not that you would get leap on an AG1 Death Roller, but I'd love to see +AG, +AG, Leap. That would just make me smile.

There is no need for leap. With BT you are just driving into the cage. :puke:
